Reaction - Cypress Waters.
ReAction is a large-scale intervention in the landscape that transforms the intersection at Beltline Road and Olympus Avenue in Dallas, Texas into a portal for Cypress Waters Development. It is an iconic benchmark that establishes a dialog with the site by responding to the series of dynamic transitions that have modeled the land, with an organic gesture that captures the action of transformation.
ReAction challenges the horizontality and stillness of the territory with one thousand eight hundred erect poles standing twenty-five feet in height. Each individual pole sustains a head of raw cypress that, as a collective, provides a heavy visual weight supported by an array of slender masts.
ReAction is a suspended conceptual forest that is living and therefore ever-changing in its appearance.
